Confirmation is about to begin, are you ready?

It is that time of year again…

Confirmation classes will start on September 22 at 7pm in the De Sousa House at Holy Spirit Church.

If you are a student, feel free to arrive early so you can look at the posted rosters and find out which room you and your friends will be in.

This year we have many new Teachers of all ages, so you will definitely be in store for a wonderful experience taught from many perspectives.

If you are a returning Leader, or someone who was recently confirmed and would like to teach Confirmation this year, you can always contact Deacon Bill Drobick to express your interest.

Confirmation is always a place to learn more about ones faith, to share and express thoughts and concerns, a place to find answers to questions to help anyone to better understand their faith on a deeper more personal level.

Our Confirmation staff is full of the Holy Spirit, and try to inspire others as Jesus has inspired the world.

WAVES has been to many concerts, events, and youth conventions over the last few years. They all have been amazing and full of fun memories. Isn’t it about time you attend an event to see what all the excitement is all about?

What do we do when we feel like we can’t do anything at all?

These past few weeks I have felt this very way.

So many times in our lives, problems appear as the go down a path that we feel we cannot possibly change. Many of us try every possible solution: the most logical, to the less obvious.

But as a Catholic, Prayer is always my first 1st choice. I continue to pray as I move down my list of possible solutions to any problem.

I have alway tried to be a resilient and a relentless Catholic. One that will not give up and one that will not be stopped. I will always find a way to strive to do good in a manner that was shown to us by Jesus Christ himself.

If I ever encounter a situation that I feel has no possible way for me to overcome, I can always look to the following saying: WWJD (What Would Jesus Do).

Jesus was a strong willed man, he was patient, he offered guidance, helped strangers as well as friends, went out of his way to do God’s work, befriended enemies and faithful followers along the way. He was not pushy, mean, or ill willed… He was understanding and caring, and open minded. All things I feel are examples of what a Catholics should be.

So whenever facing a task, a problem, a dilemma, a challenge, or any obstacle… Remember that there are insurmountable possible solutions to try and that prayer is one of the most effective ways to help solve your problems. You don’t necessarily rely on prayer to do all the work, but prayer reinforces your strength, eases your stress, and will help guide you as you attempt to find a solution.

Last night the recently confirmed RCIA group met up for one last time for a closing potluck banquet.

Jacqueline B. & Jasmine N. are two WAVES Leaders that were sponsors for two RCIA members. Here is Jacqueline B. with her RCIA candidate Kelly N.

Jasmine N. came with home baked chocolate chip cookies that were tasted so fresh and soft. I might even say it is the best cookie I have had in a really long time!

There was a a ton of sweet treats brought to dinner, I especially enjoyed the small butter & sugar filled bread rolls that Jacqueline had brought.

The most unique dessert of the night was this S’more flavored Cupcake. The icing was a toasted marshmallow cream with a Hershey chocolate piece stuffed inside. The detail that made this cupcake so good was the graham cracker crust on bottom of this chocolate cupcake

The RCIA is an amazing program that is the process through which interested adults and older children are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life. It is ran by dedicated individuals of all ages, in many different phases of their lives as Catholics. Each year the RCIA programs is willing to accept the help of people who would like to help guide help assist the RCIA program and its members as they go through their journey of receiving their Sacraments as they begin to live their Catholic lives.

Congratulations on a Wonderful Confirmation

Today at 5pm a new generation of young adults has gotten Confirmed at holy Spirit Church in Fremont, Ca. These young adults have decided that they will continue a to live their lives according to the Catholic faith.

Although these newly confirmed have completed their two years of Confirmation; they have just begun a new stage of exploration and understanding of the Catholic faith within their lives.

On behalf of WAVES of Holy Spirit Church, Congratulations!

There is a world of opportunity for you to continue your faith whether it is to actively participate in your parish by joining a ministry, coming back to help teach Confirmation as a WAVES Leader, or even go on to do good deeds while spread God’s word in your everyday life.

Continue to actively seek out understanding of how our FAITH effects us…

…how FAITH can gives us strength and love during our weakest times, and how FAITH gives us unbelievable joy and elation during our greatest moments…

However you choose to continue your faith, I am sure you will find the WAY…

…and along that way, you will find the TRUTH…

…and once you have found the light of truth, let it shine bright to reveal your LIFE…
